COMPOSTING
People who have a garden are asked to install a composter in their garden. Peelings and small plant waste can create a good quality humus. This process reduces the amount of waste to be processed and provides for free fertilizer!

The Composter is aimed at receiving the kitchen waste and the garden waste. If watered and aired properly, the mixture goes on a natural decay and produces in 5 or 6 months, a compost for the garden.

In 2007 and 2008, 800 family composters have been distributed to Grand Alès inhabitants so as to encourage sustainable behaviors and composting.

Alès Primary schools are associated in this education program ( 600kg collected).
