Alès has an intense associative life with more 800 associations registered which organizes a lot of activities at the local level, and enable the Grand Alès inhabitants to fully enjoy their sports, arts, humanitarian and solidarity activities.
210 associations are gathered in the Alès 1901 Association which aim is to promote the associative life of the town.
An Association Center (Maison des Associations) was created at the Espace André Chamson, place Henri Barbusse. It receives the activities organized by 70 associations and proposes a number of annual exhibitions.
Each year in September, a forum of associations ( Forum des Associations) enables 150 associations on average to present their activities to the public.
