A teaching of quality with 5 graduated teachers which enables to get introduced to ballet, jazz dance, tap dance, or gym classes for adults who want to keep fit. So as to act accordingly with the cultural policy adopted by Alès and with the National Stage of the Cratère Theater, a drama class has been created in the School of Dance for anyone from 13 year old.

The teaching of the School of Dance is organized according to an artistic course of study ( drawn up by the Ministry of Culture) structured by age and level in the various activities proposed by the school so that anyone can find the right space of expression. Dancers follow a global teaching including:

• A class to master the techniques of danced motions and the style aspects of a discipline, ballet, jazz, or contemporary dance.
• A musical formation for the dancer
• A creative workshops
• A class of awakening about the choreographic and repertoires heritage in dance disciplines.

The programs follow cycles. At the end of each cycle, an exam is taken in front of a jury so as to validate the moving up into the higher cycle. A separate course is proposed for adults and teen beginners only.

• Awakening (from 4 to 5 year old): 2 years
• Initiation (from 6 to 7 year old): 2 years
• 1st Cycle (from 8 to 11 year old): 4 years
• 2nd Cycle (from 11 to 15 year old): 5 years
• 3rd Cycle (from 15 year old): 5 years.
• Separate Course (from 14 year old): 3 years at least.

• Awakening: the purpose of this class is to arouse curiosity and artistic sensibility, to develop a certain way to relate to space, energies and music.
• Initiation: this class is aimed at giving a first approach of several disciplines and to develop creativity.
• Classic: learning of the technical vocabulary, motion and interpretation.
• Contemporary: development of creativity, gestural and musical diversity, building of a body language.
• Jazz: learning of jazz dance techniques, awakening to rhythm and energy.
• Tap dance: learning of the basic steps and strikes and regularity.
• Body Practice: smooth body practicing (stretching, abdominal training etc. …)

The school of music also benefits from the support of a Parent-teacher association in the framework of complementary activities.

The dramatic art teaching as a double aim:

• To give an overall approach of dramatic arts
• To train actors.

Students' motivations are respected and every kind of repertories isdealt with from classical to contemporary drama. The teaching program is organized according to a an dramatic course of study. A Jury validates the moving up to higher cycle.
Initiation from 13 year old
1st cycle from 15 year old
2nd cycle according to the progression in the 1st cycle.

A separate class is proposed for adults, then they can enter the regular cycle course after they have pass the examination.

A creative workshop is opened for 1st and 2nd cycle students and for adults. A class of awakening about the dramatic heritage and dramatic arts repertoires is integrated in the general teaching.
