The IEMS was created in 1989 thanks to the support of Languedoc-Rousillon. It’s first aim is to train an elite of highly qualified technicians in motor sports.
To different kinds of training are proposed:
- 1/ a short training (2 to 5 days):
Someone who already works as a technician can acquire specific technical skills via a series of workshops: road grip, repairing and creation of composite items, shock absorber, repairing and diagnostic.
- 2/ a long training:
For anyone who has a passion for motor sports, the IEMS proposes a special training aimed at obtaining the Motor Sports High Level Technician Certificate.
This 1340 hours training (that is to say, 9 months of training) combines, theory, practice experience, real-life situation on the occasion of championships (Monte-Carlo Rally, 24h Hours of Le Mans…) and a two months work placement in a professional championship team, so that the trainee may acquire a first professional experience.
