A unique event in France: every year, 1 000 choir singers coming from all parts of Europe - "les fous chantants" - prepare a tribute to a great French singer.

On the Saturday evening, after 6 days of intense rehearsal, they pay this tribute at the Arène du Tempéras, in front of 4 000 spectators, and with the artist they sing for and often accompany on his or her most famous songs. After the homage to Ferrat, Moustaki, Goldman, Bécaud, Nougaro, Mauranne, Voulzy, Muvrini or Sheller, the 2010 tribute will be for Balavoine, Berger and Bashung.

During the rehearsal week, a Song Festival is organized and proposes free concerts at the Théâtre du Bosquet, and there is also "La Nuit des Fous" with extracts from the tribute show and a ball.

Alès City Hall supports this event from its very creation.
